Tennis star Maria Sharapova turned heads at a sports awards show when she arrived at the ceremony wearing just a little black leather dress and spiked heels.
“She played about 40 match-winning shots,” Harkleroad said. “There was nothing I could do out there.”
Maria wore the figure-hugging sleeveless black number, which features a corset-style bodice - a popular look with celebrities such as Victoria Beckham - to the ESPY awards in Los Angeles, where she received an award for best international female athlete.
Clearly enjoying her moment in front of the cameras, the 20-year-old struck a pose on the red carpet befitting a catwalk model.
Unfortunately, the sight of Maria looking quite so well may further enrage Russian tennis officials after she pulled out of the team for this weekend's Fed Cup semi-final against the US. The world No 2 agreed at first to make her Fed Cup debut in Vermont before quitting saying she was not match-fit due to a persistent shoulder injury.
Russian tennis chiefs are accusing Maria of putting her own interests ahead of her country.
Former national tennis champion and broadcaster Anna Dmitrieva also questioned Sharapova's commitment.
She said: "Well, she never intended to play in the first place. All she wanted was to be included in the Fed Cup team so she would be eligible to play at the 2008 Olympics."
Pesky controversy aside, once they clock eyes on pictures of Maria in this sexy outfit, no doubt all will be forgiven!
